St. Patrick’s Day festival 2022

St Patrick's Day festival 2022 in Valencia

Thanks to everyone who came and supported our St. Patrick’s Day festival 2022. This was a smaller event than in previous years, as due to Covid we did not receive a permit to have an official event this year.

The VICA musicians were joined by members of the Singers’ Circle and the Irish Dancing group, and a great time was had by all. We saw some old friends and welcomed new members of the Irish community and friends of Ireland to the festival.

Well done to everyone on a most enjoyable afternoon!

St. Patrick’s Festival 2022 Update

VICA will meet for a smaller St. Patrick’s Day festival this year on Sunday the 13th of March. Our regular Sunday traditional session in the Túria gardens park will be joined by members of our Singer’s Club, members of the Irish dancing classes, and the Irish language conversation circle. Everyone welcome!

The location is at the Jardin del Turia, at the altura of Jardin Botánico (there is a ramp which goes down into the riverbed on that side of the river) and the closest metro is Turia (5 mins walk).

Bring a picnic and make sure you are dressed in green!

On Thursday 17th there will be live music and sports in Max Max Pub Celta, St. Patrick’s Irish Pub, and many other venues throughout the city.

Postponement – St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade 2020

Following the decision of the Government of Spain and the Generalitat Valenciana to postpone the 2020 Fallas celebrations due to ongoing concerns about the Coronavirus (Covid-19), the Valencia Irish Cultural Association has decided to postpone the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade 2020.

We hope to be in a position to have a cultural festival in Tinglado 2 later in the year.

Fundraising drive continues for St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade 2020

With the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade less than a month away, we are hoping for a bigger and better event this year. The event will once again take place in Tinglado 2 in the Port area of the city on Tuesday, March 17th from 1130 to 1430. Over 500 people attended the event last year, and we are hoping for an even bigger crowd this year. This is a family friendly event with plenty of activities for both children and adults.

Although the event is being part-funded by the Ayuntamiento de Valencia, the Embassy of Ireland in Madrid and Tourism Ireland, we are relying on the generosity of the public to ensure that we can organise a great event for all friends of Ireland in Valencia.

With that in mind, we have set up a fundraising “GoFundMe” page. Please help us to ensure the success of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade by giving as generously as you can. Thanks!

Irish food and drink companies help ensure success of 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Valencia

Thanks to the support of a variety of Irish food and drink companies, we were able to offer a great selection of treats to the more than 500 people who came to the Valencia Irish Cultural Association’s 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Festival.

Thanks to Ray and Ros Coyle from Tayto Park for an extremely generous donation – Tayto crisps are always a hit with Irish people, but plenty of locals also enjoyed them! Tayto goodie packs were also included in our raffle prizes.
